What is Stephen Ministry? Stephen Ministry is a program that equips members of our congregation to provide distinctively Christian, confidential, one-to-one care to others in our church family who are undergoing spiritual suffering. Stephen Ministers care for people who are: Hospitalized Coping with a terminal illness Caring for a family member with a terminal illness Grieving the death of a loved one Homebound Suffering from marital separation or divorce Alone or discouraged

A Stephen Minister IS...

• A child of God who walks beside a hurting person
• A caring Christian friend who really listens
• A lay person who has received 50 hours of training in Christian care-giving
• Compassionate, full of empathy
• Full of faith
• Skilled
• Trustworthy

A Stephen Minister is NOT...

• A counselor or therapist
• A problem-solver
• A casual visitor
